Volunteer Activity Companion (Carer Support) for Sussex Support Service

About this opportunity

To befriend, support and help those using the centre to engage in activities, conversation. Provide Carer Support Coordinator with practical help to ensure the smooth running of the sessions.

What they are looking for

Welcoming those using the centre, taking coats, and settling the service user area of the centre.

Engaging service users in activities, including but not restricted to:

  • Singing
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Physical Activities
  • Cognitive Activities
  • Conversation
  • Reminiscence Activities

These may be led by the Carer Support Coordinator, an outside facilitator or yourself (as and when you feel confident to do so). The activities may be in a group or 1-1 depending on the needs and requirement of the service user. Making beverages and serving. Clearing down and loading and emptying the dishwasher. Occasional washing up. Laying the table, serving lunches, and clearing away. Wiping down tables.
