Uckfield U3A

Operating for over 24 years, U3A are well versed in offering a huge range of activities and interests to the people in the Uckfield area. If you’re retired or semi-retired, they boast over 50 different activities for you to choose from and a healthy roster of members in regular attendance.

Since there is such a lot on offer the best thing is to list just a taste of what you can sign up for.

French/Spanish/German Conversation

Various music groups

Philosophy

Croquet (in the Summer months)

Pub Lunches

Scrabble

Art

Sewing Circle

Table Tennis

Coffee

Bridge, Mahjong, Card games.

Also, the U3A organise monthly trips to locations of interest, and put together coach trips when able. In fact, they’ve already got plenty coming up over the next few months, with trips to charity warehouses in February and March, a trip to Worthing next month, and in March a coach trip up to the Imperial War Museum.

One of their popular activities are walks in the local area, taking in our beautiful surrounding countryside. Members of my family have participated in these over the years and always spoken about how much they got from the social experience, gaining some exercise whilst at it.

So if you’re retired or semi-retired, maybe just moved into the Uckfield area and looking to find like-minded people to share interests with, perhaps you’d like to try out a new hobby or simply practice some old skills you haven’t had a chance to dust off – then give U3A a look.
