Volunteer Legacy Officer – Kit Wilson Trust

The Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare work primarily to rescue and re-home animals in need, predominantly working with dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Since their rescue centre in Hadlow Down was established in 1986 they’ve expanded their services, growing to include wildlife rehabilitation and a wildlife emergency helpline. They’ve even housed a variety of animals permanently who were unable to be re-homed.
About this opportunity
They are seeking a reliable person preferably with some experience of dealing with legacies, or with some experience of a legal background to. Duties will include:
- Administer incoming legacies to the Trust and to ensure their completion.
- To liaise with solicitors or Will executors as needed.
- To keep the Trustees fully informed and up to date by providing a brief monthly report, and to contact the Trustees promptly if any decisions or difficulties are encountered.
Legacies are one of the important ways in which the Trust finances it’s work, so this position is a vital and valuable cog in their administrative machine.
The position is mainly working from home with no set hours. Must be computer literate and adept at communication both on the phone and written.
