Driver – Uckfield Housebound Club

About this organisation

They offer support and friendship to anyone in the Uckfield area who is housebound.

The club meets on the second Wednesday of each month 11am to about 3.30pm when they normally take members out to lunch, and on the 4th Wednesday of the month 1pm till about 4.30pm when they normally go to Margaret house in Uckfield for afternoon tea and entertainment.

About this opportunity

It would involve picking members up from their homes around Uckfield in The Lions Bus, assisting them from their front door to the bus, helping them onto the bus via tail lift and ensuring they are safely seated and seat belts on. Walking aids are stored at rear of the bus. Then returning them to their homes and making sure they are safely inside before leaving them.

Full training will be given. This would be a shared roll and a driver would not be required every time there was a meeting. There is also another helper on the bus .

Driver needs to have D1 on licence and two years driving experience and will be driving the Lions Club Minibus.

DBS check might be required.
