Wealden Citizens Advice provides free, confidential, independent and impartial advice and information, and campaign on the big issues affecting people’s lives in Wealden. Their goal is to help everyone find a way forward, whatever problem they face. They are an independent charity and are part of the Citizens Advice network across England and Wales. They value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination wherever we see it.
Wealden Citizens Advice are looking for volunteer advisers in their friendly Uckfield, Hailsham and Crowborough offices to help deliver their service, giving information and advice to clients.
This role is an opportunity for you to share your knowledge and existing skills, but you don’t need to have specific experience or any qualifications to apply. You’ll receive an introduction to the service and all the training you’ll need for your role, as well as support and supervision throughout your time volunteering.
You don’t need any specific qualifications, but you’ll need to be friendly, approachable, good at listening, have basic IT skills and a willingness to learn.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives, helping them with solving issues such as dealing with benefits, debt, employment and other problems.
Ideally, you would be available one day a week between 9am – 3pm. This however is flexible, and hours that suit you can be discussed.
Travel expenses are paid for.
