The Uckfield Volunteer Centre
The Uckfield Community Awards are being held in partnership with Ashdown Radio, with numerous categories to nominate someone for.
These awards are to celebrate the incredible achievements of those in our local community, who have gone the extra mile in helping others, devoting their time and energy to worthwhile causes, pursuits, and looking after those in need.
There are 13 categories this year:

The awards ceremony will take place on the 24th of November later this year at the East Sussex National Hotel, and nominations will close in early September. By nominating someone you stand a chance of winning 2 tickets to the ceremony.

Young Volunteer of the Year Award: Kimberley Stevens
For her work with Artytime as part of her Duke of Edinburgh award.
Volunteer of the Year Award: Ryan Millns
For his dedication and enthusiasm as programme director at Ashdown Radio a voluntary role that is essential to the smooth running of the radio.
Service to our Community Award: Andrew Ledward
Andrew started volunteering as a teenager and has helped many organisations in Uckfield over about 40 years from maintaining beautiful spaces to reviewing accounts for charities and lots in between.
Winners of the 2021 awards
Good Neighbour Award: Stuart Woodham
For his tireless work coordinating neighbourhood working groups. His energetic and cheerful enthusiasm has inspired others to follow his lead.
Happiest Volunteer Award: Heidi Greenwood
For her wonderfully engaging storytelling online during lockdown with the animals on her farm.
Young Volunteer Award: Jake Isted
For his dedication to helping others throughout the community.
Service to the Community Award: Mike Macve
For his hard work with Uckfield PHAB since its beginning in April 2007.
Volunteer of the Year Award: Peter Griggs
For his unwavering help with Manor Park & Hempstead Fields Residents Association, Surgery Car Service as well as The Meads Patient Group and many other events and projects.
