Local charity, ENGAge, runs two clubs in Hadlow Down Village Hall, Wealden, every Wednesday and as reflected in the recent press coverage of government recognising the need to combat loneliness, what our friendly team of volunteers contribute is a positive and valued benefit to our community.
The TN22 Club is a welcoming, social lunch club for people over 60, who may be isolated and lonely and want to meet for friendship, good conversation, fun and a delicious, nutritious cooked lunch
The TN22 Plus Club is for people with mild to moderate dementia and provides a safe and caring environment to socialise, enjoy a delicious, nutritious lunch and take part in stimulating activities. It can also provide some valuable free time for carers, knowing that their loved one is well looked after with personalised support.
ENGAge are looking for volunteers to join either or both of their friendly teams to support our members with various activities such as crafts, puzzles, music making, or gentle exercise or to help as drivers or in the kitchen. No special qualifications are necessary, just willingness to help create a fun and stimulating environment in a sensitive and supportive manner.
