Family Support Work

Family Support Work was founded 125 years ago and works with children and families across Sussex. Working in partnership with the Anglican Diocese of Chichester we support children through difficult times in their lives.

As qualified professionals we work intensively with individual families to prevent family break down and encourage families to find solutions to the challenges they face.

Michelle Smart, Family Support Worker for FSW, helps families to overcome such issues as physical and/or mental illness, parenting problems, help parents resolve unemployment, debt, housing problems, support a child to stay in mainstream education or just help a child and their family get on in life.

She works in collaboration with the local Food Bank and as a designated distributor can issue anyone in need with a food voucher.  Based at the Uckfield Volunteer Centre (three times a week) ensures that people can phone up or walk in off the street and access FSW’s support.  Contact Michelle on 07788 722864 or email her on: michelle@familysupportwork.org.uk
