World Kindness Day on 13th November
Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.

A Little Act of Kindness
At the Uckfield Volunteer Centre we are supporting World Kindness Day and we would like to encourage local schools, community groups and companies to celebrate it with us, in fact our whole community in Uckfield. The aim is to inspire everyone to carry out little acts of kindness and experience the big impact helping one another has on our society.
Volunteering: The Power of Kindness
On Tuesday 13th we will be providing free refreshments at the Volunteer Centre. We are at the top of the High Street, just up from the cinema. Do call in and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a cake with us. At the same time you can find-out how you can put your kindness into action by donating your time and skills to help one of the many charities and community groups helping our community in Uckfield.
Acts of Kindness
- Spend time with someone who might be lonely
- Surprise a loved one with a kind note or letter
- Buy a lottery ticket and give it to a stranger
- Donate unwanted items to a local charity shop
- Take in treats for your colleagues
For more ideas see the Kindness Day UK website.
In our window we will be displaying a selection of inspirational mottos as well as suggesting other kind acts you can perform on Kindness Day. If you have a favourite kindness quote – we would be delighted to add it to our Kindness Board. We would also love to hear about what you and your organisation are doing on Kindness Day and we will like to share your messages with our Followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Helping Hands and Kind Hearts
On Kindness Day we have also invited groups of children from our local primary schools to take a stroll into our centre to enjoy a fun crafting activity.
If you would like to have a go with your children at home, click to download a cut-out template or feel free to simply draw around your own hand or draw your own heart shape at home. Please drop off the decorated hearts and hands at the centre by Monday 12th so we can string them together to create bunting and garlands.
On Tuesday 13th November help us to spread happiness and kindness to more people.
Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.
